Feature Review:
No Country For Old Men - The Coen Brothers return with, all things considered, probably their best film to date. In adapting Cormac McCarthy's neo-Western they've made something akin to their debut, Blood Simple, but with a wisdom of twenty plus years in the business. Great acting abounds throughout. A remarkable and serious film that will leave you confused, unsatisfied, and frightened for your life. Rated R.

Hitman - Another movie made from a video game. I suppose this is watchable for awhile and there is a pretty girl (Olga Kurylenko) that relieves some of the boredom but you'd be better served not giving Hollywood money for putting such disposable crap out. Timothy Olyphant, Dougray Scott, and Henry Ian Cusick are better than this lackluster film. Rated R.

Beowulf - This is cotton candy compared to the above film. Still it is fun. The action is well paced, the stop motion animation effective, and the 3-D a gimmicky pleasure. Roger Avary and Neil Gaiman have reworked the story of the classic epic poem with mixed results. Some intriguing ideas and some not so. Overall, this is a real crowd pleaser.

Love In The Time of Cholera - Gabriel Garcia Marquez's classic story gets the the once over and it is a mess. There is some beautiful imagery and lots of naked bodies but some books should never be made into movies.
