Knocked Up - This is a fun, slightly crude comedy from Director Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin). It stars Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen. Once you get the past the unlikely (no matter how much alcohol was involved) coupling between these two you'll have a blast. Rated R for language, sexual situations, and brief nudity.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End - It is very hard to write this review. I thought the movie was pretty good. It was more focused than the second one. As expected the production design was awesome although they seemed to have rushed this one to theaters (some of the special effects weren't as seamless this time). Overall, I had a decent time. Keith Richards cameo was cool. Johnny Depp and the rest of the cast were solid.

I had a tough time with this movie at first. After seeing the previews it lookd as though it was going to be pirate battles all the way through. That is not the case. Some of the plot was kind of hard to follow from time to time. At one point there are 3 different plans going on at one time and they keep cutting between them all. Like Captain E.Flo said the special effects in some parts are way sub-par in my opinion. Would it have been better for them to wait till the summer rush to put the movie out and work on the CGI a bit more? Maybe. I'm not let down by this film though. From start to finnish the movie seems to just move along and makes the 2+ hours seem like nothing unlike the second film. Yes some of the stuff that happes is over the top, but what's a pirate movie without some far fetched things happening. Although the prior 2 POTC films all had little nods to the ride that made this franchise possible, it's in this film that we get some real deal ride content. By this I mean real audio from the ride in the film. The only problem is when they updated ride they took some of these audio clips out of the ride so kids from today will never get the reference. In my opinion Captain Barbosa (Geoffrey Rush) is even more bad ass than he was in the first. He's a bit more pissed off and a little more in charge. Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) wears more of a pirate getup than in the past films and looks more like the old romance novel pirate than anything else. Captain Sao Feng (Chow Yun-Fat) was built up to be this really kick ass pirate but they didn't feature him nearly enough. Keith Richards cameo was pretty cool. Reminds me of the old captain in the battle scene in the ride. Will Captian Jack Sparrow be back again to battle off the English navy? Let's hope so, just keep Turner and Swan out of it or at least in smaller roles and bring in some more REAL pirates.

Waitress - This is a charming romantic comedy from left-of-center. Sure it is a bit long and some of the characters aren't fully developed but it is sweet and slyly female-strong which makes it better than your standard Hollywood fare. Sadly, writer/director/supporting-actress Adrienne Shelly is no longer with us. Rated PG-13. Starring Keri Russell and Nathan Fillion.

28 Weeks Later - This film is easily as vibrant, violent, and stylish as the original 28 Days Later. The problem is the plot which relies on the cliched convention of if a sequence of bad events can happen they will despite the chance of them occuring being 1%. That said, this is still a good scary flick, especially the final scenes occuring in the bowels of a soccer stadium in England. Rated R.
